The Stratford Police will be conducting roadside sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols throughout the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend. The sobriety checkpoint is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 29, and will be some time between 5 p.m. and 4 a.m.
This is part of the police department’s 2014 Comprehensive DUI Enforcement program, which, according to Lt. Curtis Eller, “enables us to conduct roadside sobriety checkpoints in an effort to reduce the number of impaired driving injuries and fatalities through increased high-visibility DUI enforcement.”
The message from Stratford Police is: “Have a safe holiday weekend and please don’t drink and drive.”
