Domestic violence

After receiving a complaint from an alleged victim that Ruben Cardona, 26, of Stratford had hit, threatened and strangled her during a domestic dispute Stratford Police issued an arrest warrant for Cardona. Having a description of Cardona’s car police noticed him driving in town on Sept. 7. They stopped him and arrested him on charges of assault, threatening and strangulation.

 

Cocaine on Mt. Carmel

Police say that they were watching an area of Mt. Carmel Road on Sept. 5, where they had received complaints of suspected drug sales. After a car stopped for a while, and another car pull up to it, and then a person on foot walked up to the car, police approached the car with a K-9 unit, which sensed that drugs were in the car. Police report finding ziplock baggie with what appeared to be crack cocaine packaged for sale. They arrested Tanya Dedrick, 26, of Stratford on charged of illegal sale of narcotics and distribution of controlled substance within 1,500 ft of a school. Also arrested was Regina Baldino, 21, of Trumbull. She was charged with illegal possession and illegal obtaining of narcotics.

 

Oxycodone on West Broad

Police say they had received complaints of suspected drug activity in an area of West Broad Street in August, so they were keeping an eye on the area. On Sept. 3 they pulled over a car with a loud muffler and what appeared to be windows tinted darker than allowed by law. Visible in the car, police say, was a folding knife. The driver, Joseph Dzwonkowski, 25, of Stratford held his fists clenched, according to a police report, and police found dollar bills bound by a rubber band. When Dzwonkowski exited the car, police say he struggled with police and tried to flee. The man was subdued by police taser and arrested. The police report says the money added up to $437, and drugs found included Oxycodone and Aderol. Charges against Dzwonkowski are illegal possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substance, tampering with evidence, interfering with an officer, and unnecessary noise by a vehicle.

 

Heroin on Lordship

After seeing a car with tinted windows apparently exceeding the speed limit on Lordship Boulevard on Sept. 2, police stopped the vehicle as it was about to get on I-95. Police say they detected an odor of marijuana, saw no legal tinted windows sticker, and the driver appeared very nervous. Police found two baggies of marijuana, 10 packets of heroin, about $1,000 in 20s, 10s and 5s and multiple mobile phones. They arrested the driver, Raevon Peters, 22, of Bridgeport, on the charge of illegal sale or distribution of narcotics.
