Route 1 / Barnum Avenue will be closed at the intersection of Main Street in Stratford on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10 – 11 a.m. for the Early American Festival Parade.
Main Street also will be closed during the parade — from Wilcoxson Avenue to Stratford Avenue — from approximately 10 – 11 a.m.
Stratford Police suggested that motorists traveling through Stratford on Route 1 use Interstate 95 as an alternate route.
The local alternate route for westbound Route 1 / Barnum Avenue traffic during the parade will be: Veterans Boulevard, Ferry Boulevard, Stratford Avenue, Beardsley Avenue, and West Broad Street.
For eastbound traffic the alternates will be: West Broad Street, Beardsley Avenue, Stratford Avenue, and Ferry Boulevard.
